Drug-free bioelectronic patch for pain management

Piramal Healthcare Ltd. announces launch of its first drug-free bioelectronics product for Orthopedic Pain, ActiPatch^TM, for pain management in India through Distribution agreement with the US-based Bio Electronics Corporation, the maker of anti-inflammatory medical devices and patches.

Dr. Swati Piramal, Director, Piramal Healthcare Ltd. announced the launch to media. Also present on the occasion were the Business Head for Ortho & Pain Management, Mr. Alok Malik, Dr. Hemant Bhandari, (MS Ortho), Hon. Assoc.  Cons., Bombay Hospital, and Dr. Ashok Kumar (MS Orhto), Apollo Hospital Chennai shared their feedback on ActiPatchTM and its benefits to the common man.

ActiPatch^TM is a medical device that utilizes Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Frequency (PEMF) to accelerate healing of soft tissue injuries, is a drug-free patch with an embedded batter operated microchip. Patients suffering from pain and swelling in conditions such as, low back pain, sports and work injuries, ankle sprain, tennis elbow, all kinds of sprains and strains and inflammation can benefit from this product.

The product is available in four different ranges - for back pain therapy, knee pain therapy, foot and ankle pain therapy and for wrist pain therapy. Though marketed as an over the counter product worldwide, ActiPatch^TM will be marketed under prescription in India.
